‘Weekend @ Daisys’ Scrapbooking Retreat Dates for 2024

Our in-store retreats have been a great source of friendship and fun, and provide a great opportunity to meet fellow Papercrafters and form great friendships. We apply a theme to each retreat and whilst the emphasis of these retreats is Scrapbooking – all Papercrafters are welcome to attend! (NB – whilst the emphasis is on Scrapbooking, you are very welcome to bring projects of your choice (eg Cardmaking, Journaling, Mixed Media etc).

Retreats start at 4PM on the Friday and go through to 3PM on the Sunday of each weekend:

February 9-11 (The Eighties)
May 17-19 (Theme to be Confirmed)
August 9-11 (Pyjama Party Theme)
November 1-3 (Christmas Theme)

Our Cardmaking Retreats are held at the Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre at Currimundi with plenty of space to create, shared accommodation with ensuites and the nearby boardwalk and beach to enjoy! (NB – whilst the emphasis is on Cardmaking – you are more than welcome to bring projects of choice (eg Scrapbooking, Journaling etc).

Cost is $275pp and this year will be held 12 – 14 July.

Additional Scrapbooking Retreat Information

Our Weekend Retreats have been happening now for nearly as long as we’ve been operating (over 20 years!) and have become a highlight of our Calendar.

We generally hold 4 retreats at our store in Nambour (on the Sunshine Coast an hour north of Brisbane) each year – they commence at 4PM on Friday afternoon where you arrive to ‘setup you creative space’ for the weekend and chat, craft and enjoy yourself – through to 3PM on Sunday.

All meals are included from dinner Friday night to lunch Sunday as well as morning and afternoon tea and suppers! As you can see by the photos on our Facebook page – we have fun dressing up and each retreat is themed to add a little fun to the weekend!!

Please note accommodation is not provided with our Retreat inclusions – however there are several motels in Nambour as well as Air-BNB options – the closest to our store being Nambour Lodge Motel, in Currie Street.

The cost of the Retreat Weekend is $200pp

Also included in the Retreat price is a ‘Daisy Box’ comprising of a stash to the value of $50 (or more) to spark your creativity over the weekend. You can use them at the retreat or take them home with you. Contents includes a scrapbooking layout kit (in lieu of a formal class) with materials and instructions, colour images and full written instructions as well as other goodies and snacks.

On Saturday evening everyone is invited to get dressed up in the weekend’s theme for dinner – when some great photos are snapped for future layouts! Over the weekend you have access to all our workshop tools, stamps, punches, ideas books, as well as our manual die cutting and sewing machine – making it a great time to get some projects finished while enjoying the relaxed social atmosphere.

Additional Cardmaking Retreat Information

Our Cardmaking retreats commence at 4PM on Friday afternoon and conclude 3PM Sunday. All meals and morning/afternoon teas and suppers are included. Accommodation is provided in ensuite rooms containing two double bunks (and single accommodation may be available at an extra cost). Sufficient rooms are available to provide everyone with a ‘bottom-bunk’ bed. The Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre is located at 80 Currimundi Road, Currimundi, on the Sunshine Coast – an hour’s drive north of Brisbane.

The cost of the weekend includes meals, giveaways and a technique Cardmaking class with the amazing EDNA Edie.

We also provide a Challenge Pack and invite you to participate in a Card Swap and Embellishment Swap over the weekend.

Payments for Retreats

A deposit of $25 is required to secure your booking for our regular scrapbooking and cardmaking retreats. You are welcome to phone and pay via Credit Card, drop in personally or pay via Direct Deposit (see below).

As we often have people on our waiting list, we are asking that all deposits be paid by the due date. If your deposit is not received, and we are unable to contact you, your booking will be cancelled and the place will go to the next person on the waiting list. We thank you for your understanding, as we try to give everyone the opportunity to attend these popular events.
